When you sit down to write, do you constantly get writer’s block?
Well, I can’t promise that you’ll never to have writer’s block, but at least when it comes to social, I can make it really easy!
There are 8 places I go to create content extremely quickly.
Everyone gets it, but not everyone PREPARES for it. Batching is a quick and simple solution, so don’t make things more difficult than they need to be.
Here are my best practices for making the caption process as quick as possible!
1. PUT EVENTS/CONFERENCES/LAUNCHES ONTO YOUR SOCIAL EDITORIAL CALENDAR FIRST.
These things are always going to be happening, so why not turn them into posts? And if you don’t have a social editorial calendar, come read about ours here.
2. TAKE QUOTES FROM BOOKS.
If you have an inspiration or quote topic, take quotes from books that you’re already reading! If you’re not a reader, then maybe use song lyrics that speak to you—whatever works for you!
3. KEEP A LIST OF PODCAST EPISODES.
What podcasts inspire you? What will inspire your audience? Turn these into posts!
4. REUSE TIPS/TRICKS GIVEN TO CLIENTS.
If you don’t have a client business, you can disregard this.
Go through old client emails or Facebook messages, and see what your clients were struggling with, and what you advised them to do. Turn these into highlight or tip posts!
5. TAKE QUESTIONS FROM FACEBOOK GROUPS.
If you’re a Facebook groupie, you’re already in there. What’s stopping you from taking questions related to your work? If you’re a diet coach, type “diet” or “fitness” into the search bar, and you’re good to go. Really simple.
6. TAKE QUESTIONS FROM TV SHOWS.
I watch “The Pitch,” “Shark Tank,” “The Profit,” so I take questions from there, and use them for your batching process.
7. USE AFFILIATE LINKS.
Affiliate links aren’t just software. They can be used for clothes, or stylists, or kitchen utensils—all sorts of things! If you’re giving advice, then see if you can become an affiliate before you give that advice. I advise everyone to become an Amazon affiliate—just Google “Amazon affiliate” and sign up, because you can make significant income by being an affiliate.
8. LISTEN TO A PANDORA CHANNEL.
Well this isn’t really a place, but it’s helped me stay on task while writing all of my social captions .For me, I listen to a Norah Jones Pandora channel when I batch my social. My brain connects Norah Jones to being in “focus” mode. It doesn’t matter what album or artist it is, just make it into a routine. It will turn your brain into a machine!
So go forth and conquer your social media!
